Travel Health
Do you need vaccinations?
Our Nurses can provide comprehensive travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 6-8 weeks before departure if possible. Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.
Clinics: The clinics are held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, with some later appointments available but these are always booked very quickly by patients who cannot easily make the afternoon appointments.
Travel Risk Assessment: You will be risk assessed and if fit and well, commence your vaccinations on your initial visit. Please note, some immunisations are only available on a private basis and these include rabies, yellow fever, Japanese b encephalitis and tickborne encephalitis. Antimalarial tablets will be on private prescription only and can then be sourced from any Chemist, for which they will have set charges.
Queensway patients: If you are a patient at Queensway, please contact Reception to book an appointment.
Private patients (non-Queensway patients): If you are not a patient at Queensway Surgery, then please contact us and speak to a travel nurse (Max or Yvonne) if they are available (or leave a message for them). Please be advised that as a Private Patient we are unable to offer any treatment on the NHS and any immunisations you require from us will incur a cost.
Select the region you are travelling to find out more.
Travel Assessment
We offer a full travel advice and immunisation service. If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit the travel form in plenty of time (we recommend 6-8 weeks) before your journey.
